He is a medical graduate committed to research. He has a profound understanding of human disease and expertise in molecular and cellular biology, initially in cancer, and now in kidney research. He was awarded the NHMRC Dora Lush scholarship in 2000 and the Peter Doherty Fellowship in 2007. He has received three NHMRC project grants in last decade, and has played the lead role in each of these projects including as CIA, CIB, and NHMRC fellowship.
