Autosomal dominant polycystic kidney disease (ADPKD) causes kidney failure in about 150 Australian adults every year, for which there is no treatment. Although it is inherited, kidney failure usually occurs in middle age. In this project, the in vivo role of ATR-DNA Damage Response (DDR) signalling in Autosomal Dominant Polycystic Kidney Disease (ADPKD) will be established using preclinical murine and in vitro models of ADPKD.
