The design and development of a new building for the Westmead Institute for Medical Research continues to receive praise and recognition – more than two years after its completion.

Building project managers, Capital Insight, recently won the 2016 National Project Management Award in the Construction/Engineering category.

Capital Insight previously won the NSW Project Management “Project of the Year” Award from the Australian Institute of Project Management.

Subsequent to the national award, Capital Insight has also been awarded a high distinction and second place in the Asia Pacific Project Management 2016 Awards.

Chairman of The Westmead Institute, Richard Hill, noted that success in project delivery has a different meaning to the staff of the Institute.

“Project success can be measured in many ways – not least in time, cost, quality, and stakeholder risk and integration management,” he said.

“But more importantly, the project set the Institute up for what it is now and what it will become in the future as we build on collaboration and other research opportunities.”

The awards for project management follow the Institute building receiving the 2015 Sulman Medal for Public Architecture from the Australian Institute of Architects.
