WIMR is delighted to launch the first issue of its quarterly magazine, Discovery.

WIMR is delighted to launch the first issue of its quarterly magazine, Discovery.

In each issue of Discovery, you will read information about some of WIMR’s recent research discoveries, as well as an in-depth look at one of our pioneering research projects.  You will meet our dedicated and talented researchers and staff, as well as people whose lives have been changed or even saved by WIMR’s research, and those who provide vital philanthropic support.

In this first issue, read about a research project that aims to use stem cells to regenerate human heart muscle. You will also read about how collaboration is at the heart of success for two of WIMR’s lead cardiac researchers, Associate Professors Eddy Kizana and James Chong.

Enjoy an exclusive one-on-one interview with WIMR’s incoming Executive Director, Professor Philip O’Connell. Meet Paul Jones, a man whose life has truly been changed by a procedure that Professor O’Connell pioneered in Australia – pancreatic islet transplantation.

Maggie Wang is responsible for all the research technologies housed at WIMR, and she tells us what drives her passion for technology…and dumplings.

Also, read why Gavin Pettigrew has chosen to leave a lasting legacy to his late wife Carol with a gift in his Will.

All this and much more can be found in the first issue of WIMR’s Discovery magazine.
