Celebrating WIMR's pioneering Centre for Transplant and Renal Research team

World Kidney Day (9 March 2023) raises awareness of the importance of our kidneys to our overall health and to reduce the frequency and impact of kidney disease and its associated health problems.

One of the objectives of the day is to encourage transplantation as a best-outcome option for kidney failure, and the act of organ donation as a life-saving initiative.

On this day, we at WIMR also celebrate our pioneering Centre for Transplant and Renal Research (CTRR) team, whose aim is to improve the lives of patients with renal failure.

Each day, the dedicated CTRR team works to translate its research into clinical practice, with the goal of providing better options for patients, slowing disease progression and, where possible, preventing renal disease and its complications.

The CTRR team at WIMR is focused on:
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • Transplant Precision Medicine
  • Type 1 diabetes
  • Renal bone disease
  • Cystic renal disease.

Thank you to the entire CTRR team at WIMR for your tireless work that is truly changing lives and saving lives.  Find out more about the work of the team here – https://bit.ly/3Zonstt
