This project will use basic molecular biology techniques such as molecular cloning, mutagenesis, gene expression analysis, DNA sequencing etc. to understand the role of specific gene in the maintenance of antibiotic resistance plasmids. The purpose of this project is to understand the basic biology of plasmid stability systems and develop plasmid based tools to eradicate antibiotic resistant problem plasmids from human gut.
